M‑TH evenings (4p‑8p), then Fridays 6‑2:30p (approx. 24 hours/week)
Mechanic/A & P Intern (Co‑Op)As a Mechanic/A & P Intern (Co‑Op), you will have the chance to get involved in a variety of exciting projects. Example of what you might be doing:
- The Mechanic Trainee will learn how to perform routine maintenance, and major inspections on turbofan‑powered aircraft.
- Troubleshooting, repair, and modification of aircraft components and engines will also be a part of this OJT program.
- Issues tooling to shop personnel and maintains a system to track the whereabouts of tooling.
- Inspects, maintains, services, and repairs tools. Accomplish or coordinate tool calibrations as required.
- Prepares tools for shipment to outside repair and/or calibration vendors.
- Maintains calibration certification documentation.
- Observes all safety, environmental and general housekeeping rules and policies.
- May perform other duties as required by the department.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- A prospective student must meet screening and security requirements.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have proven mechanical and technical aptitude.
- Must have proven experience using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Must be able to accurately read and interpret dimensions and measurements.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours per day and walk long distances.
- Candidates must be able to be on‑site for work daily.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, crawl, and climb ladders in order to work on areas within the aircraft that are difficult to access.
- Must be able to think clearly and speak intelligibly on the telephone and in person.
Preference is given to Lincoln Land Community College Students.
Salary$19.21/hr the above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Standard Aero considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
