Position Overview

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, located in Roxana, IL, is seeking an LDAR Technician. The technician identifies, documents, and tags fugitive emissions from industrial components such as valves and pumps, ensuring compliance with EPA regulations. They use specialized equipment such as Toxic Vapor Analyzers and Optical Gas Imaging cameras to monitor, report, and facilitate repairs in refineries, chemical plants, and oil/gas sites.

Work Schedule
  • Monday-Thursday. 4/10s OT available as needed by site.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure health and safety by complying with safe work practices and protocols.
  • Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy objects.
  • Perform routine, scheduled inspections of components to detect leaks of volatile organic compounds.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain analyzers such as Flame Ionization Detectors.
  • Record inspection data, tag leaking components, and manage inventory within databases such as LeakDAS, Guide Ware, and Sky Bridge.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations (e.g., 40 CFR Subpart 60) and site safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to report leaks and verify repairs.
  • Travel to remote sites and work in complex, loud industrial environments.
  • Work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to wear protective clothing or equipment, including Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh-air breathing mask, an escape pack, and a hard hat.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • TWIC required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, EPA waste codes, manifesting, and Land Disposal Restrictions (preferred).
  • Confined space entry and 40-hour OSHA training (preferred).
  • Knowledge of RCRA requirements and regulations (preferred).
  • Strong mechanical ability.
  • Physical stamina to walk long distances, stand for extended periods, climb ladders or scaffolding up to 300 ft, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear a 15‑lb backpack; working at heights is required.
