Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician supports the daily maintenance operations of the facility by assisting in the repair, upkeep, and preventive maintenance of equipment and building systems. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, this role helps install and maintain heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems. The Technician is also responsible for basic facility upkeep both inside and outside of the building and plays a critical role in ensuring minimal downtime in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Duties
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and electrical systems.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of production equipment and machinery.
  • Complete preventative maintenance tasks according to scheduled timelines.
  • Inspect and replace worn or damaged parts using hand and power tools.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, shop, and storage areas.
  • Respond to maintenance requests or breakdowns during production shifts in a timely manner.
  • Document all repairs, and maintenance performed on appropriate logs or work order systems.
  • Monitor facility grounds and assist with snow removal, lawn care, and general exterior upkeep.
  • Support compliance with company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA standards.
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of production equipment for shift changes or new product runs.
  • Participate in facility inspections and audits as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with production and QA teams to minimize disruption during maintenance work.
  • Assist with inventory control of maintenance supplies and parts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager or Supervisor.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in industrial maintenance, facility maintenance, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Willingness to learn and follow established safety and maintenance protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Basic computer or tablet skills for work order completion and documentation.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and machinery.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights when necessary.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
  • Occasional exposure to cleaning chemicals, grease, dust, and outdoor elements.
