Position SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment across NNCC facilities. This position requires a dependable individual with strong technical and problem-solving skills who can work independently while supporting the organization's commitment to providing safe and accessible spaces for the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Facility Maintenance & Repairs- Perform general maintenance and repair work, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and facility systems to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
- Troubleshoot and repair facility equipment and building systems as needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, service calls, and work orders.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of facility assets.
- Maintain grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, and common areas in a clean, safe, and presentable condition.
- Assist with seasonal maintenance activities, including snow removal, salting, landscaping, and debris removal.
- Monitor facility exteriors and report any safety hazards or repair needs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, building codes, and organizational policies.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards in a timely manner.
- Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with emergency repairs and facility preparedness activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair logs.
- Track inventory levels of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
- Recommend purchases and replacements of tools, equipment, and materials as needed.
- Assist with facility improvements, renovations, office moves, and special projects.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and vendors when required.
- Support organizational events by assisting with room setup, breakdown, and facility preparation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, power tools, and hand tools.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and customer-service orientation.
- Previous maintenance, facilities, or building operations experience.
- Technical certifications in maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related trades.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
