Part-time Janitor position offering 25-29 hours per week.

Reporting office in Hillsboro, MO with assigned locations throughout Jefferson & Franklin Counties in Missouri.

Agency vehicle will be provided.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday with flexible schedule.

Incorporated in 1965, Jefferson Franklin Community Action Corporation (JFCAC) is a 501(c)(3) non‑profit organization committed to assisting low‑income individuals and families to achieve self‑sufficiency through quality programs in Jefferson and Franklin Counties. We are a federal, state, and locally funded Community Action Agency.

JFCAC offers a variety of impactful programs for eligible individuals and families, from early childhood education, rental and utility assistance to home upgrades that improve energy efficiency and create safer living environments.

We’re looking for an individual to fill our newly open position of Part‑Time Janitor
. This person must have a strong attention to detail and motivation to follow tasks through to completion and the ability to work independently.

It is a #1 priority of our agency that our staff, clients, and Head Start students have a safe, clean environment.

JOB SUMMARY

As the part‑time Janitor you will perform a variety of janitorial, custodial and/or maintenance tasks to maintain a safe and clean work environment. You will report to our Hillsboro, MO office daily. You will have use of an agency vehicle for travel to/from your assigned locations throughout the Jefferson and Franklin County areas. You may also be asked to assist elsewhere in the agency such as with "handyman" type projects.

Basic computer skills are strongly recommended. Employees must use online software to clock in/out and check emails for work assignments.

MAJOR TASKS
  • Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors and stairs.
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms daily.
  • Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
  • Restock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.
  • Empty all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Dust such items as blinds, furniture, file cabinets and desks that are not cluttered.
  • Clean windowsills and windows.
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
  • Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
  • Properly label, dilute and use all chemicals.
  • Proper and safe storage of all cleaning materials and chemicals – specifically keeping out of reach of children.
  • Purchase cleaning supplies as necessary.
  • Replace light bulbs and fuses.
  • General maintenance of grounds including removal of snow from sidewalks and salting of walkways.
  • Other routine maintenance.
  • Possible involvement and work assignments in handyman projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma.
  • Six months or more of related experience.
  • Willing to submit to criminal background screenings, driving history check, and drug screenings.
OTHER REQUIRED CAPABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel) strongly recommended.
  • Must be a problem‑solver, with the ability to think and solve on your feet.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., reach overhead, walk on roofs, drive a vehicle, climb a two‑story ladder, and climb through a 24" square opening to attics or crawl spaces.
  • Must be able to remain on your feet for several hours.
  • General handyman skills, e.g., moving boxes, furniture, hanging pictures, cleaning gutters, washing windows, etc.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Pay Rate: $15.91 per hour, bi‑weekly pay.
  • Status:
    Part‑time, 25-29 hours per week.
  • Paid Holidays & Sick time.
  • 403(b) Salary Deferral with employer match & Simplified Employee Pension plan.
