The Arc of the Ozarks is looking for a dependable Part-Time Custodian to help keep our Springfield office buildings clean, safe, and welcoming. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and has strong attention to detail.
What You’ll Do- Perform general cleaning and sanitation of office buildings and facilities.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and locker rooms.
- Dust and wipe furniture and surfaces.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Empty and clean trash containers and smoking areas.
- Refill restroom supplies and replace light bulbs as needed.
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up after meetings, classrooms, and events.
- Clean and maintain floors, carpets, walls, furniture, and other areas of the buildings.
- Use cleaning equipment and tools such as vacuums, mops, buffers, auto scrubbers, and extractors.
- Clean windows and blinds and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Help keep sidewalks, stairs, and ramps clear of snow and debris when needed.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools when necessary.
- Follow proper procedures for the use of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Complete work orders and notify a supervisor when repairs or maintenance needs are identified.
- Assist with inventory and recycling.
- Secure the building at the end of the evening when assigned, including locking doors, turning off lights, and setting the security alarm.
- Maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor when working around staff and program participants.

- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, sanitation, and health and safety practices.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds.
- Licensed and insured driver preferred.
- Six months of prior custodial experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining The Arc of the Ozarks office buildings and grounds in appearance and cleanliness. This individual serves in the capacity of general cleaning duties, sanitation detail, and other tasks that will maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
The Custodian may be responsible for opening and/or locking up the building if all other employees have left.
