As an Assistant Custodian, you are required to:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Training and/or experience evidencing knowledge of custodial and basic maintenance techniques

As an Assistant Custodian you will:

• Ensure cleanliness of classrooms, offices, hallways, and steps and recycle materials according to the recycling program
• Cleans restrooms and locker rooms daily and replenishes supplies
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities and custodial equipment, including groundskeeping equipment
• Set up and take down special equipment for assemblies, special programs, and other activities
• Operate necessary equipment to promote a clean, safe, and healthy environment
• Assist in the cafeteria during lunch and assist in cleaning the kitchen
• Guard property against fire, theft, and illegal entry and obey all safety regulations at all times
• Provide security for buildings by attending to the physical plant during open hours and securing all doors, windows, and restricted areas during closed hours, and responding to Sonitrol calls in the absence of the Head Custodian
• Close the building by shutting off all lights, locking all doors and windows, and unlocking doors as required
• Perform a variety of tasks to the grounds surrounding the building including mowing, trimming shrubbery, removing snow and ice, picking up and emptying receptacles, etc.
• Lifts and moves equipment, furniture, supplies, or materials up to 50 lbs and 50 yards

What We Offer:

• Contracted employee working 8 hours per day, 260 days per year
• Monday–Friday 12:30 am–9:30 pm or as assigned
