The Part Time Residential Property Technician role is in place to preserve and increase the value of real estate holdings for the property owner. At Sycan
B., this includes a 150‑multi‑unit apartment complex and additional single‑family homes. Cross‑training in commercial maintenance is essential as this position works closely with and supports the Commercial Maintenance Technician. Strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to remain agile as priorities shift are essential to success in this role.
At the Apartment complex, this position is responsible for managing the day‑to‑day maintenance, complex cleaning work orders, and ordering materials and supplies that are needed for the complex. Well‑developed organizational skills are a plus as this role is responsible to keep the apartment complex maintenance shop clean and organized at all times. this position is Part time and will be 5 days a week with 4 hour shifts.
Following proper tracking and maintenance procedures is a requirement. This includes material and supply ordering, unit turnovers, maintenance of shop equipment location, maintaining appliance replacement spreadsheets, and any other internal processes that pertain to the organization of the complex.
Daily duties include inspections of the property to ensure it is in good working order, working quickly to resolve issues that arise along with emergency maintenance issues. Reports items/issues and vendor concerns to Property Manager timely.
Scheduling flexibility is required for the purposes of taking after‑hours calls that come in during the weekdays and on weekends when assigned.

- Intermediate carpentry skills required.
- Tact, diplomacy, and the ability to de‑escalate unproductive interactions.
- Familiar with Oregon Landlord Tenant Law, and federal laws and regulations that pertains to the Maintenance Dept.
- Participates in continuing education for the industry.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow established procedures.
- Have positive, public relations with the tenants and vendors for the properties.
- Understand and practice safe working procedures.
- Ability to treat others with respect at all times, this includes when interacting with tenants, guests, vendors and co‑workers.
