Adult Sweeper. Lane C

Pay: $15.62 per hour, 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, 177 days per year. Must be at least 18 years of age to apply. There are no benefits with this position.

Placement on the salary schedule will be reviewed by a supervisor and finalized through the Human Resources and Payroll Departments. Candidates already employed with Nebo School District, applying for a new position with a lane increase, may decrease in overall steps in the new position if offered, accepted, and not in the same job category.

Job-related experience is desired.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance Required.

The job of Adult Sweeper is to maintain an attractive, sanitary, and safe facility for students, staff, and the public; provide equipment and furniture arrangements for meetings, classroom activities, and events; and minimize property damage, loss, and liability exposure.

This job reports to the Head Adult Sweeper.

• Arranges furniture and equipment to provide adequate preparations for meetings, classroom activities, and special events.
• Assists in securing facilities and grounds to minimize property damage, equipment loss, and potential liability to the organization.
• Attends in-service training (e.g., blood borne pathogens, cleaning solvents, floor care, first aid, etc.) to receive information on new and/or improved procedures.
• Cleans assigned school facilities (e.g., classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, pools, grounds, desks, lunchroom, locker rooms, etc.) to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• Performs various custodial functions, as required, to assist in maintaining the facility in a safe, attractive environment.
• Reports incidents of vandalism, damages, and/or issues needing action to seek prompt corrective action.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

  Adhere to safety practices, and operate equipment used in custodial work.

  Basic math, including fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; understand written procedures, write routine documents, and speak clearly; understand multi-step written and oral instructions; methods of industrial cleaning; safety practices and procedures.

Working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions.

Physical demands include significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Job requires 10% sitting, 60% walking, and 30% standing, and is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard-free environment.
