Assistant Maintenance Supervisor

Salary Range: $26 - $30/hr

Schedule:

Monday
- Friday, 8-5pm; on-call

Primary Responsibilities for the Assistant Maintenance Supervisor:
  • Assisting with the management of the onsite maintenance team
  • Working closely with Maintenance Supervisor, Property Manager, and on‑site management team
  • Providing leadership and guidance to foster a productive team environment and achieve property maintenance goals
  • Providing effective training to new maintenance staff members
  • Delivering professional, quality services to residents and responding to service requests in a timely manner
  • Adhering to all applicable codes/standards and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Providing effective maintenance management throughout all areas of the property
  • Assisting with managing inventory, ordering and delivery of approved supplies and equipment
  • Performing various community maintenance services relating to plumbing repair, appliance repair, minor electrical repairs, HVAC troubleshooting and repairs
  • Assisting with the management of apartment turnover process for efficient resident move‑ins
  • Establishing effective relationships with vendors and partners to maximize quality of service to residents and meet budgeting objectives

  • The property is generally regarded as being in one of the better parts of downtown Stamford. The building sits between Downtown and the South End, giving you walkable access to restaurants, bars, offices, and the train station while avoiding some of the isolation of purely residential areas.
    • Very walkable to the Stamford Transportation Center.
    • Lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and nightlife nearby.
    • Popular with commuters to NYC.
    • Generally considered active, with many residents walking dogs and using the downtown amenities.
What We’re Looking for in an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor Candidate:
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the property if on‑call is required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be able to read and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Great people skills and a desire to provide residents an exceptional residential experience through superior in‑person service and quality maintenance management
  • Thoughtful leadership skills to foster a supportive and productive onsite team environment
  • A minimum of 1 year of leadership experience as an Assistant Maintenance Supervisor or in a team environment
  • A strong working knowledge of all aspects of multi‑family property maintenance
  • Experience with working in various digital platforms including Microsoft Office Suite and various industry‑related software platforms.
  • Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a “can do” attitude to ensure the property’s success
  • Willingness to work weekends/holidays in an emergency situation
  • Successful completion of required background and drug screening prior to start of employment
