- Ensure all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably to support an exceptional guest experience.
- Lead proactive maintenance practices that identify and resolve issues before they impact guests.
- Partner with Operations, Housekeeping, and other departments to maintain a seamless, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
- Respond quickly to operational challenges while minimizing disruption.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve facility performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Lead daily maintenance operations across the property.
- Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs that maximize equipment performance and asset longevity.
- Oversee critical building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, life safety systems, water treatment, pools, thermal areas, and mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate external contractors, repairs, equipment upgrades, and capital projects.
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and compliance standards.
- Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
- Establish clear expectations while creating a culture built on safety, accountability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
- Encourage collaboration across departments to create one unified guest experience.
- Lead with professionalism, calm decision-making, and pride in operational excellence.
- Manage maintenance labour, inventory, and operating expenses responsibly.
- Extend the lifecycle of property assets through disciplined preventative maintenance practices.
- Balance operational reliability with sustainability and financial responsibility.
- Use performance data and operational insights to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Support capital planning and equipment replacement strategies.
- Experience leading maintenance, engineering, facilities, hospitality, wellness, or commercial property operations.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, water systems, and life safety equipment.
- Experience developing preventative maintenance programs and managing facility improvement initiatives.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, reliability, continuous improvement, and exceptional guest experiences.
This role requires a leader who is comfortable being highly visible within the operation and supporting the property when needed. Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional on-call responsibilities is required.
