Position Function

Assist with Special Event setups on and off campus.

Responsibilities

Performs the build/setup and removal of temporary structures, including setup and breakdown of various size tents for campus activities.

Loads, transports, and unloads materials and equipment for campus events.

Provides setup and arrangement for equipment/materials per event specifications.

Monitors storerooms and ensures order, cleanliness and security.

Works across departments for collaborative and seamless process for event preparations.

Works with pertinent personnel for equipment orders and ensures proper storage.

Performs related duties as assigned to maintain department efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED
Valid Drivers License
1 year of experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Interpersonal and communication skills required.

Ability to read and write.

Understands instructions and executes efficiently to meet deadlines.

Works effectively with a wide range of constituencies and performs variety of tasks.

Ability to exercise discretion with customers and the public, including reasonable standards for personal appearance.

Ability to work in a team and adhere to work rules that foster respect in the workplace.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job.

Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
