Job Summary

Under broad supervision, provide advanced-level technical support in one or more of the following areas: OMAT, maintenance, construction, intermodal, planning, utilities, surveying, environmental or traffic.

Job

Specific Duties
  • Perform work in the maintenance of state highways and rights-of-way or in the installation of traffic control devices.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks.
  • Operate light vehicles and equipment to perform activities.
  • Learn to perform traffic control duties and preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Complete applicable paperwork.
  • Respond to requests for emergency needs outside of normal working hours.
  • Lifts moderately heavy objects.
  • Climbs, stands, or walks for long periods of time in possible adverse weather conditions.
  • Uses accurate eye‑hand coordination.
  • Successfully complete a job training program, Maintenance Skills Development (MSD).
  • Committed to providing quality customer service.

Minimum Qualifications
  • State Entry Qualifications
    • High school diploma or GED
  • Agency Minimum Qualifications
    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Possession of a valid driver's license
    • Possesses a basic knowledge of maintenance and/or construction equipment
    • Ability to successfully perform all the job requirements listed above
  • Agency Preferred Qualifications
    • Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver's License
