Staunton City Schools is recruiting for Part-Time Custodians to join its team at the Operations Center and Maintenance shop.

Part-Time Custodian

Responsibilities include custodial cleaning of the Operations Center and Maintenance shop. Hourly rate: $16.40/hour + DOE/DOQ.

Schedule:

Monday/Wednesday/Friday — 15-24 hours/week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:

• Sweeps, mops, waxes, dusts, vacuums and other general cleaning in assigned area.
• Scrubs and disinfects toilet doors daily and cleans drinking fountains, urinals, toilet bowls and other fixtures daily to keep them clean and sanitary.
• Washes all windows, when needed.
• Reports immediately any damage to school property, giving the names of responsible individuals whenever possible.
• Remains on the premises during school hours.
• Orders and maintains supplies required for workers to complete their responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations and/or Principal.

Candidate must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to get along well with others.

• Has high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions.
• Has some custodial cleaning experience or the ability to be trained in these areas.
• Hold a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver’s license.
