Maintenance Technician - Full Time

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is a 42-bed residential treatment facility that serves adolescent males with intellectual disabilities, psychiatric disorders, and behavioral problems.

Our staff provide guidance, direction, and supervision of our young men.

We are currently looking for an attentive, knowledgeable, flexible, dependable, and self-motivated individual to fulfill the role of Maintenance Technician.

This is a full-time position with rotating on-call weeks (with on-call pay incentive). We offer a comprehensive benefits package and generous paid time off.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of duties of skilled/semi-skilled nature which support the facility's preventive and restorative maintenance management programs, utility management program, and safety program while supporting the continuous operation of other hospital departments.
Qualifications ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on facility systems and equipment
  • Performs scheduled visual general inspection, checks, and tests on HVAC, Water, Wastewater Treatment, Fire Protection Systems, and Emergency Generator System
  • Solicits contractor assistance as necessary
  • Inspects, services, and schedules maintenance in support of the facility's vehicle fleet
  • Performs assigned duties to maintain and upkeep facility buildings and grounds
  • Responds to customer work requests in a timely manner
  • Responds to emergency calls and renders appropriate assistance
  • Documents activities and outcome results
  • Practices good safety habits
  • Uses good judgment and problem-solving skills to render cost-effective services
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must complete and pass a pre-hire drug screenpre-hire background checks
  • Must possess a Virginia Driver's License in good standing
  • Must be able to meet all training requirements
  • Must possess physical stamina to stand the majority of shift and to lift and move equipment and supplies
  • Physical demands require dexterity, good vision, ability to walk, stoop, bend and be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives
EDUCATION:
  • High school education or equivalent is preferred
  • Must be able to read and write

Pay is Hourly (bi-weekly) and is commensurate with education and experience.
