Position Summary: An experienced cook with the desire to exceed and the passion to learn in the Food Industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity

Reports to manager that is attainable at the time - Chef de Cuisine, Junior Sous Chef, Executive Chef

Preparations of menu items according to specifications and Guest requests

Assist other team members as needed

Maintain a clean work area

Assists with quality control

Performs stock rotation

Adhere to food standards set out by Lais Hotel Properties’ kitchen management

Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services

Suggesting additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences

All other duties as assigned

Technical/Managerial/Administrative Requirements:

Minimum three (3) years’ experience

Good communication and listening skills

Self-motivated

Professional Requirements:

Red Seal Certification

Basic knowledge of WHMIS and safe food handling

Professional work ethic

Excellent knife skills

Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment

Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate

Excellent food knowledge

Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset

Personal Attributes:

Proper hygiene and grooming

Positive attitude towards fellow team members and the kitchen

Effective problem-solving skills

Resourceful

Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services

Positive sales-oriented personality

Desire to meet goals
