This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Position Summary: Ensures that all guests ordering food or beverages in the lounge are served in a timely, courteous and gracious manner consistent with fine dining principles.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity

Meeting established up-selling and sales goals

Stock the Lounge with supplies required to serve meals and/or drinks as required throughout the shift

Ensure the Lounge area and equipment is clean and set up with appropriate menus, snacks and promotions as required

Take Guest’s orders and through the input of information into the Point of Sales System, provides it to the Bartender and/or Kitchen

Deliver meals and drinks in a prompt and courteous manner

Accept and deliver Room Service orders when required

Providing service to the outdoor patio/pool area, based on seasonal demands

Create check, collect payment, and settle transactions following standard operating procedures

Responsible for cash floats and deposits

Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services

Suggesting additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences

Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services

Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs

All other duties as assigned

Secondary Responsibilities:

Keeping service and lounge area clean of debris

Restocking of service areas

Ensure lounge is ready and set for next shift

Technical/Managerial/Administrative Requirements:

Legal serving age for alcohol

Excellent organization and communication skills

Professional Requirements:

Must be age 18 in order to serve alcoholic beverages

Grade 10 education and computer literate

Previous experience in a Lounge/Bar of a superior restaurant/hotel an asset

Basic mathematical skills

Basic knowledge of food and beverage

Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Smart Serve Certification required

Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset

Personal Attributes:

Well-organized, self-motivated individual capable of several tasks simultaneously

Good personal hygiene habits

Trustworthy and dependable

Able to pay particular attention to small details

Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services

Positive sales-oriented personality

Desire to meet goals

Ethical and honest

Physical Requirements:

Lifting and moving of up to 15lbs at a time

Able to stand for long periods
