This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

What you’ll be doing:

Prepares and cooks items for breakfast buffet and the lunch a la carte menu.

Sets up line for the lunch buffet when required and cooks all menu items on a daily basis.

Work in and maintain a clean environment.

Follow Lais Hotel Properties’ standards for food preparation.

Assists in the preparation of stocks and soups as required under the direction of the Executive Sous Chef.

All other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the role:

Technical/Managerial/Administrative Requirements:

Basic knowledge of WHMIS is considered an asset.

Standard first aid is considered an asset.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Understand and practice of safe food handling.

Professional Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent experience.

Theoretical training at a community college in a cook apprenticeship program for one year and 6000 hours of in-house on-the-job training under certified Chef or equivalent experience of 3-5 years.

Excellent eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills for cutting, chopping and arrangement of meals on plate.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate.

Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset.

Basic literary skills.
