This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepares and cooks items for breakfast buffet and the lunch a la carte menu.
  • Sets up line for the lunch buffet when required and cooks all menu items on a daily basis.
  • Work in and maintain a clean environment.
  • Follow Lais Hotel Properties’ standards for food preparation.
  • Assists in the preparation of stocks and soups as required under the direction of the Executive Sous Chef.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • What you'll bring to the role:

  • Technical/Managerial/Administrative Requirements:
  • Basic knowledge of WHMIS is considered an asset.
  • Standard first aid is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Understand and practice of safe food handling.
  • Professional Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent experience.
  • Theoretical training at a community college in a cook apprenticeship program for one year and 6000 hours of in-house on-the-job training under certified Chef or equivalent experience of 3-5 years.
  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills for cutting, chopping and arrangement of meals on plate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Current Safe Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic literary skills.
