Job SummaryThe MTSS Interventionist provides support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the assessment of at-risk students' needs for Response to Intervention (RTI) services; implementing the RTI program strategies; monitoring and reporting student performance; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.
Essential Functions- Provides instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives and ensuring student success in school.
- Assists students, individually or in small groups, for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing intervention strategies.
- Ability to analyze benchmarking and progress monitoring data.
- Collaborates with instructional staff, professional support personnel, and parents for the purpose of assisting in evaluating needs for and progress of RTI intervention strategies.
- Communicates with RTI coordinator, parents and teachers via emails, phone calls, in person meetings, etc. for the purpose of advising them of progress or providing information on needed follow-up services.
- Supports classroom teachers and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum and integrating RTI intervention strategies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical ActivityThe role requires frequent walking and standing.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is generally stable, with minimal exposure to unusual temperatures, noise, or hazards. The position requires extended and non-traditional hours to fulfill job duties, as well as participation in organization-sponsored events and meetings.
Qualifications- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with:
- Bachelor's in Education
- Thorough knowledge of Response to Intervention
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a building level team
Professional Educator License (PEL) with thorough knowledge of Response to Intervention.
Terms of EmploymentAll terms of employment are outlined by the collective bargaining agreement with the Steger Education Association.
EvaluationThe performance of this role is evaluated according to the Board's policy on evaluating professional personnel.
