Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis:
    Administer and interpret standardized tests and other tools to identify students' speech, language, and hearing needs.
  • Intervention Planning:
    Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific communication goals.
  • Therapy Delivery:
    Provide individual and group speech and language therapy, utilizing appropriate strategies and techniques.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with parents, teachers, administrators, and other specialists to support students' communication development.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    Continuously monitor student progress and make adjustments to intervention plans as needed.
  • Consultation:
    Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering guidance and strategies to support students with speech and language needs.
  • Record Keeping:
    Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of evaluations, progress, and recommendations.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • Appropriate Illinois SLP licensure.
  • Strong understanding of special education standards and requirements.
  • Proficiency in assessing and remediating speech and language disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective therapeutic interventions.
