Assistant Maintenance Director

Pomeroy Living seeks an Assistant Maintenance Director to support all aspects of building maintenance in our senior living community. This role assists with daily repairs, preventive maintenance, safety checks, and capital projects to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff. Responsibilities include responding to work orders, troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues, coordinating vendors, maintaining equipment, and supporting compliance with life-safety and regulatory standards.

The Assistant Maintenance Director also helps lead the maintenance team, participates in on-call rotation, and models our resident-centered, service-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Director with daily operations of the maintenance department
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems
• Respond promptly to resident and staff work orders and repair requests
• Support compliance with life safety, fire, and health regulations
• Coordinate and oversee outside vendors and contractors as assigned
• Maintain maintenance logs, work order records, and inventory of supplies
• Assist in training and guiding maintenance staff; participate in on-call rotation
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify repair needs
• Support capital improvement and renovation projects
• Promote a resident-centered, safe, and service-focused environment
