Cyrus One is a global enterprise data center collocation provider, dedicated to increasing the availability and efficiency of customers’ mission‑critical business applications and safeguarding their data in our highly secure data centers. Under the direction of the Sr Facility Manager, this role works as a team member in an Operations & Maintenance organization that provides a variety of O&M services within a 24/7/365 environment.
The duties involve maintaining the reliability of critical load and providing operational support for building systems of other facilities as assigned.
- Responsible to the Sr. Facility Manager for completing assigned tasks in the Operations & Maintenance program of the Data Center and any non-DC space(s) assigned.
- Know and understand the Owner’s building operations rules for the building(s) under care as provided by the DC Manager.
- Use and teach others to use the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track all maintenance work, labor hours, Preventative Maintenance work orders, and Reactive Work tickets.
- Use SOPS/MOPS/EOPs/MMRs as appropriate for site operations and maintenance.
- Provide coordination with contractors and vendors as needed for effective and safe accomplishment of maintenance and project work.
- Respond to building system alarms, prioritizing first preservation of critical load, then minimizing equipment or system damage, and conducting root cause analysis to prevent future incidents.
- Provide equipment and system operational modifications such as critical switching, lockout/Tagout, and safe working area setup so that specialty subcontractors may perform assigned duties while minimizing risk to workers and protecting the critical load.
- Perform duties to ensure high standards of workmanship are met.
- Ensure compliance with Company, government, and client policies, procedures and regulations as provided by the Sr. Facility Manager.
- Be available for 24/7/365 work and emergency corrective maintenance or action activities.
- Comply with all Corporation and EHS requirements and programs.
- Journeyman level skills in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and fire and life safety disciplines. These skills may be acquired by obtaining an associate’s degree or in a technical training program or from working in a facility maintenance position supporting data center operations.
- 7+ years working in Tier 2, Tier 3 or Tier 4 Data Centers or experience in operations & maintenance and/or building engineering roles.
- Familiarity and knowledge of Work Order Control procedures and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
- Experience with subcontractor and vendor contract management.
- Experience with managing key performance indicators as provided by Assistant or Chief Engineer.
- Experience with capacity planning and reporting.
- Able to use hand tools, test equipment, and be knowledgeable of maintenance shop practices, with experience at the Journeyman level for Electrical and Mechanical Equipment and systems.
- Able to respond to equipment alarms, troubleshoot systems through graphic user interfaces and stabilize system operations until specialized OEM technicians are called to the site.
- Must be able to use personal computers, with emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel.

- Ability to learn quickly and develop new product skills independently.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting workloads in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of reflectance, length and decibel loss within test equipment.
- Knowledge of Visio, AutoCAD a plus.
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and service level standards a plus.
- Willingness to adjust hours as required by the business, including extended on‑site hours during emergencies such as hurricanes or other storms.
