Senior Installation Superintendent – Electronic Security
Location:
Sterling, VA, USA
- Provide a single point of onsite contact to the client
- Track hours for subcontractors and internal crew
- Lead multiple installation superintendents on large projects
- Manage long‑duration, large, complex projects and multiple sub‑systems (ESS)
- Review the Bill of Materials (BOM) at the start of each job and communicate required or missing materials to the Project Manager and Design Engineering team
- Keep the job within scope and timeframe, and communicate any schedule risks to the Regional Supervisor/Project Manager/Program Manager
- Take ownership of job schedules and hold technicians and lead technicians accountable for timely completion of work
- Maintain the schedule and follow DIV
28 specifications for quality control - Maintain weekly communication with the Regional Supervisor and keep written records in One Note, including expected milestones, work accomplished, project issues, problem discussions, site readiness documents, site inventory, and RFIs
- Communicate the need for assistance and guidance for any work required, including labor problems or technical issues
- Identify drawing or matrix errors and communicate them to the Project Manager/Design Engineer as soon as possible
- Prioritize time efficiently and manage multiple sites concurrently
- Delegate work to technicians, lead technicians, and subcontractors across sites, maintaining constant communication
- Maintain inventory records online and accessible (using One Note)
- Notify the Regional Supervisor/Project Manager if equipment is missing or defective, ensuring timely replacement based on lead times
- Operate in a positive team environment, sharing knowledge and developing skill sets
- High school diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of related experience with administrative responsibilities for day‑to‑day project needs
- Proficiency with Teams, Outlook, One Note, Blue Beam/Adobe Reader, and project drawing software
- Experience reviewing and understanding matrices, drawings, BOM lists, and system requirements (SRD)
- Knowledge of access control/CCTV systems: installation, troubleshooting, and device wiring
- Ability to maintain schedules and follow DIV
28 specifications for quality control - Experience with Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, AMAG, S2, Honeywell, Software House, Bosch, and DMP systems
- Knowledge of mechanical retrofitting for door frames and gates with electric locking hardware
- Understanding of network interfaces for devices such as access controllers, IP cameras, intercoms, and switches
- Familiarity with PC administration for IP camera configuration and camera aiming/adjustment
- Clean driving record and ability to operate a vehicle
- Clean criminal record and eligibility for local security clearance (e.g., DCJS, TS Clearance)
- Active passport or ability to obtain one for international travel
- Physical ability to work indoors/outdoors, stand, sit, climb ladders, and lift up to 40 lbs
