Our client, a leading data center infrastructure and operations organization, is seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I to join their team. As a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I, you will be part of the Critical Facilities Operations team supporting Data Center Operations, Engineering, and Infrastructure Teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills which will align successfully in the organization.

- Location:
Sterling, VA (Onsite) Occasional travel between local sites (approximately 10 miles) - Pay Range: $30.00 - $33.00/hour
- Duration: 6-Month Contract
Training Period:
Monday-Friday (Flexible 40-hour workweek)
Operations
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts (5:30 AM - 6:00 PM)
- Front Half:
Sunday-Tuesday + alternating Wednesdays - Back Half:
Thursday-Saturday + alternating Wednesdays
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical facility infrastructure and equipment.
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by technicians, contractors, and vendors.
- Operate and support critical systems including generators, UPS systems, switch gear, cooling systems, and power distribution equipment.
- Analyze operational performance, generate reports, and support risk mitigation initiatives.
- Assist with facility upgrades, capacity planning, inventory management, and efficiency improvement projects.
- Bachelor's degree, technical degree, Military training, Trade School certification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 0-2 years of experience in facilities operations, maintenance, engineering, data centers, or a related technical environment.
- Background in electrical, mechanical, facilities, maintenance, or operations disciplines.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating 12-hour shifts after the initial training period.
