Sanitization Specialist/Ware Washer - Upper DeBot Dining Center
Job SummaryAccepting work‑study and regular pay applicants. Responsible for ensuring all china, glassware, and silverware are cleaned, washed, and sanitized timely. Deliver cleansed items to front of house during meal service. Weekend shifts required.
Responsibilities- Pulling and sorting smallwares from the carousel in preparation for cleaning.
- Sorting, staging silverware for cleaning and delivery.
- Keeping area free of clutter and organized.
- Scraping, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing pots, pans, and utensils using sink and washing machine.
- Loading/unloading the dish machine.
- Maintaining a clean/dry floor throughout shift.
- Delivering clean items to various concepts throughout the facility.
- Assisting in cleaning carousel, dishwasher, pulper, sink, wash machine, walls, and floors at end of meal period.
- Attending mandatory staff meetings.
- Completing University Dining Orientation Canvas Page and mandatory trainings (Mandated Reporter and Information Security) before first shift.
- Abiding by policies outlined in University Dining Student Employment Handbook and department procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by Management Team.
- Minimum 8 hours per week.
- Ability to lift pans weighing up to 40lbs between production area and carts.
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift up to 60lbs when storing or gathering products.
- Ability to stand and walk on hard floors for extended hours.
- At least a part‑time student (enrolled in ≥6 undergraduate or ≥5 graduate credits) and good academic standing (cumulative GPA 2.0 or higher).
- Passing criminal background check.
- Passing all UWSP mandatory trainings and department food‑handling trainings.
Base Wage: $13.00/hour. Successful completion of an eight‑week probationary period will result in performance evaluation impacting future employment status.
