This position is responsible for performing custodial duties and related maintenance tasks in the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Oak Park Heights.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

+ Floor Care

+ Garbage Removal

+ Cleaning and Maintenance of the Facility

This position has contact with incarcerated individuals.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

Knowledge of:

+ Different types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment.

+ Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleaches, scouring agents and soaps sufficient to appropriately select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.

+ Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively, operate safely and to make minor repairs.

Ability to:

+ Follow simple oral and written instructions.

+ Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.

+ Keep simple records.

** Preferred Qualifications*
* The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

+ Work experience in commercial janitorial services.

+ Experience in general building maintenance.

+ Experience in repairing and maintaining equipment.

** Physical Requirements*
* The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required prior to hire for this position.  These components consist of a tuberculosis and respiratory screening.
