Cafeteria Custodian

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Cafeteria Custodian at Nichols School. This part‑time position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards.

• Sweep and mop floors to ensure a tidy environment.
• Dispose of all trash and recycling in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist in setting up and breaking down dining areas when necessary.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe dining experience.
• Collaborate with cafeteria supervisor and monitors to maintain cleanliness and organization.

• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, and perform cleaning tasks as required.
• Flexibility to work varied hours on early dismissal days.
• Must pass a background check as a condition of employment.

• 17.5 hours / wk (approximately 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM daily)
• Pay and benefits per Union Contract
