Job Description

This position assists in determining the proper corrective action for damaged or worn equipment based on breakdown history and discussions with the operations team to find the most cost‑effective solutions. It assists with dispatching BaSE Mechanics to complete required conveyor system repairs and Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs). It monitors the status of repairs and PMI updates daily to ensure timely completion, and it assists in conducting facility inspections and identifying operational improvements needed to promote efficient package flow and safety.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with overseeing the protection of physical assets, facility and equipment maintenance, and facility housekeeping.
  • Assist with identifying and scheduling necessary repairs and preventative maintenance using BaSE mechanics and outside vendors to maintain facility condition.
  • Communicate assigned work status to colleagues to determine potential impact on the department’s schedule.
  • Assist with maintaining environmental compliance in accordance with UPS environmental programs (e.g., Storm Water, Clean Air, Hazardous Materials) to promote the environment and safety of UPS workers and the surrounding community.
  • Deliver required regulatory training (e.g., Lockout Training/Hazmat Training) as directed to BaSE and non‑BaSE personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required (completed or nearing completion).
  • Experience in the field of Maintenance Engineering preferred.
  • Programming experience, including troubleshooting, basic understanding of networks, motor control theory, and operation, and basic AC and DC electrical troubleshooting – preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and simple diagrams.
Requirements
  • Must reside within the geographic location of the job; relocation assistance not available.
  • Must be able to work Monday–Friday, but flexible based on business needs.
  • Must be able to work a 1st shift, but flexible based on business needs.

Pay Range and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,400.00 to $ per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
