Function / Position SummaryThe prevention, mitigation, response and recovery for safety and security at secondary schools. Assist in the administrative functions of the Dean's/Principal's office. Supervision of cafeteria, hallways and other public areas on school grounds, with a focus student safety and security of the building and property.
Job Duties / Responsibilities- Ability to interact in different situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and precisely under stressful conditions.
- Supervision in maintaining an orderly atmosphere, which is conducive to educational development and individual growth.
- Support the administration in the implementation of district and school regulations and policy. This includes but is not limited to enforcing and monitoring dress code, , pass privileges, visitors, school assemblies, before and after school security, bus arrivals and/or departures, lunchroom, parking lot, escorting students in the building, and other assigned areas.
- Supervision of behavior management in the halls, bathrooms, office, classroom, grounds and extra-curricular programs and events.
- Take all reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, staff and facilities.
- Work professionally and cooperatively with administration, colleagues, and school personnel.
- Supervision of conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
- Assist in investigations, translations (if applicable), and staff consultations.
- Assist with emergency response management according to District procedures and as directed by the principal/designee.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English (written/verbal) preferred.
- Ability to work with high school students.
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Occasionally requires physical exertion to manually move, lift carry, pull, or push objects or materials up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.
- This is a temporary position. Salary and benefits as established by the Board of Education. U-46 reserves the right to terminate the position by the third day of student attendance if a minimum number of students do not register or enroll.
