Position Overview

Pelton Shepherd Industries is seeking a highly skilled Lead Machine Operator with strong mechanical aptitude to support reliable, efficient, and safe production operations. • Operate, inspect, and maintain production machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose mechanical issues by understanding cause‑and‑effect relationships within machine systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and component replacement.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and repair machines efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for machine‑related issues on the shift.
• Train and mentor Machine Operators and Assistant Operators on equipment operation and mechanical fundamentals.
• Monitor machine efficiency and product quality; complete required production and maintenance reports.
• Identify worn or damaged parts and manage reporting through established inventory systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance, MRO, and production leadership to improve equipment reliability.
• Ensure SOPs, safety standards, and quality requirements are consistently followed.

• 3–5 years of hands‑on machine operation or mechanical manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment issues independently.
• Strong understanding of machine components, mechanical processes, and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to interpret mechanical problems and implement effective corrective actions.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure production environment.
• Clear communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and service production machinery.
