The Part-Time Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and professional environment throughout the company's offices, breakrooms, restrooms, vending areas, and common areas across three buildings. This position will perform routine cleaning and general housekeeping duties to help ensure employees and visitors have a clean and safe working environment.
The position is scheduled for approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling based on business and facility needs. The Janitor is expected to work independently, manage cleaning responsibilities across multiple buildings, and ensure assigned areas are consistently maintained to company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Clean and maintain front office areas in all three buildings.
- Clean, sanitize, and restock office restrooms.
- Empty office trash cans and dispose of waste in designated locations.
- Sweep, vacuum, and/or mop floors in offices, hallways, entrances, and other common areas as needed.
- Clean and maintain employee breakrooms and vending areas in all buildings.
- Wipe down tables, countertops, sinks, appliances, and other commonly used surfaces.
- Clean interior windows, doors, and other surfaces as needed.
- Monitor cleaning supplies and notify the appropriate person when supplies need to be reordered.
- Follow established safety procedures when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns observed while performing cleaning duties.
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in a neat and organized manner.
- Travel between the company's three buildings as required to complete assigned responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.
- Ability to prioritize cleaning responsibilities across multiple buildings.
- Basic understanding of safe cleaning practices and proper use of cleaning products.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean workplace.
- Ability to appropriately interact with employees, visitors, and management.
- Reliable transportation or ability to travel between the three company buildings as required.
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
The employee must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods while performing cleaning duties.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, squat, reach, and twist.
- Regularly use hands and arms to operate cleaning tools and equipment.
- Push and pull cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, mop buckets, and trash containers.
- Lift, carry, push, or move cleaning supplies, trash, and other materials weighing up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Reach above shoulder level and below waist level.
- Safely perform repetitive cleaning motions, including sweeping, mopping, wiping, and vacuuming.
- Move throughout office, shop office, restroom, breakroom, and common areas.
- Safely navigate between and within multiple company buildings.
- Tolerate exposure to commonly used commercial cleaning products and typical manufacturing facility conditions.

This position works throughout three company buildings and may include office areas as well as areas located within or adjacent to a manufacturing/shop environment. The employee may occasionally be exposed to noise, dust, temperature variations, and normal manufacturing operations while traveling to and cleaning designated areas.
Appropriate personal protective equipment and company safety requirements must be followed when entering designated shop or manufacturing areas.
Work Schedule- Approximately 20 hours per week.
- Flexible work schedule, coordinated with the supervisor based on facility and business needs.
- Schedule may be structured to allow cleaning activities to be performed during times that minimize disruption to normal business operations.
- Regular and dependable attendance is required.
