Event Staff/ Venue Crew
A Houseman prepares, arranges, and clears venue spaces for conferences, weddings, and events. Responsibilities include lifting, loading/unloading, arranging furniture, setting up AV equipment, and cleaning to ensure compliance with safety standards, requiring physical stamina and attention to detail.
RequiredSkills and Qualifications
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long hours and lift, move, or push heavy items, often exceeding
- Teamwork: Collaborating with event coordinators, other staff members, and vendors.
- Time Management: Executing tasks efficiently under tight timelines.
- Flexibility: Ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Considerable physical exertion is required (lifting, bending, standing).
- Work is conducted indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to follow strict, detailed, and rapidly changing instructions.
- Venue Setup: Arranging tables, chairs, decorations, and equipment according to floor plans and layout instructions.
- Logistics & Equipment: Unloading, assembling, and installing furniture, stages, audiovisual equipment, and lighting.
- Breakdown & Cleanup: Removing furniture, clearing debris, and cleaning the venue after the event concludes.
- Inventory Management: Checking inventory before and after the event to ensure equipment is accounted for and undamaged.
- Safety Adherence: Following fire codes and safety regulations during all setup and breakdown procedures.
