Position Summary :The Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the organization’s Strongsville facility and grounds, ensuring the building remains safe, clean, functional, and operational.
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 20–25 hours per week
.
The Technician will work independently to perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, inspections, and general facility upkeep, while coordinating larger repairs and contractor needs with the Department Director.
Key Responsibilities :Facility Maintenance :
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and basic janitorial tasks.
- Perform basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, painting, and general repairs within qualifications.
- Maintain doors, locks, lighting, shelving, fixtures, and other building components.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address issues before they become costly problems.
- Maintain facility infrastructure supporting warehouse operations, including shelving, workbenches, lighting, loading areas, doors, and docks.
- Coordinate with the Warehouse Operations Lead regarding facility-related issues.
- Maintain maintenance supplies and coordinate replenishment with Procurement.
- Identify and report safety hazards and facility deficiencies.
- Coordinate with qualified contractors when work exceeds the Technician’s capabilities or licensing requirements.
- Assist with contractor access, estimates, and completion of work.
- Report significant repairs, safety concerns, and potential capital expenditures to the Department Director.
- Maintain basic maintenance and preventive-maintenance records.
- Document completed repairs and identify recurring maintenance issues.
Required :
- Previous experience in building, facilities, construction, trades, or related maintenance.
- General knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices.
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commercial or industrial facility maintenance experience.
- Basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical skills.
- Preventive-maintenance experience.
- Relevant trade certifications or licenses.
Part-time, hands-on position requiring approximately 20–25 hours per week at the organization’s Strongsville, Ohio facility.
Work may occur throughout the facility, including warehouse, mechanical, exterior, loading/receiving, and other areas. The position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting, and occasional ladder use.
