This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. The Electrician II maintains and improves plant electrical systems and equipment in order to provide a high degree of safety, quality and productivity. Typical activities include (but are not limited to) : electrical machine and machine component repair, HVAC electrical systems troubleshooting, programmable logic controller (PLC) and computer interface programming, installation or rearrangement of new or existing equipment/systems and total plant and facility maintenance.

• Work well with little supervision
• Keep all work areas clean and neat
• Housekeeping of the shop is primarily the responsibility of the electricians working in the area
• May lead one other employee (including directing another maintenance person)
• Follow all plant and department procedures, GMPs, JSAs, and general plant safety rules
• Providing some OJT for people new to the department, and recording and communicating shift activity in an organized manner
• Audit equipment
• Be certified for lockout/tag out procedures
• Wire and repair electric motors, gear heads and mechanical reducers
• Repair wiring and replace lighting fixtures and lamps
• Develop proficiency in running rigid and flexible conduit
