The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department. You will be paid a starting salary of $46,259 – $53,206 depending on qualifications and experience, with full benefits available from Day 1.

- Perform labor tasks required for the operations and maintenance of parks and recreation facilities (e.g., irrigation repairs, minor plumbing repair, minor construction, and cleaning)
- Operate light equipment, drive trucks and use common hand tools (e.g., City vehicles, auger, front end loader, backhoe, electric power tools)
- Perform light maintenance on equipment and vehicles to ensure they are safe, clean and ready for everyday use
- Complete assigned work orders
- Conduct yard and facility maintenance and cleaning
- Work overtime and be on call as required
- Maintain regular on‑site attendance as an essential function of the position
- Remain on duty as an essential employee before, during and after emergency or disaster situations
- Stay abreast of and comply with all City and departmental policies and procedures
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or their designee
Education:
- High school education or GED
Work Experience:
- One year of related experience (preferred)
- Experience in welding (preferred but not required)
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
