The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker in the Parks and Recreation Department. The position offers a starting salary of $46,259 – $53,206 depending on qualifications and experience.

- Perform labor tasks required for the operations and maintenance of parks and recreation facilities (e.g., irrigation repairs, minor plumbing repair, minor construction, and cleaning).
- Operate light equipment, drive trucks and use common hand tools (e.g., City vehicles, auger, front‑end loader, backhoe, electric power tools).
- Perform light maintenance on equipment and vehicles to ensure they are safe, clean and ready for everyday use.
- Complete assigned work orders.
- Perform yard and facility maintenance and cleaning.
- Work overtime and on call as required.
- Maintain regular on‑site attendance; essential function of this position.
- Work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster.
- Stay abreast of and comply with all City and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director or their designee.
- High school education or GED.
- One year of related experience (preferred).
- Experience in welding (preferred but not required).
- Valid Class "C" Texas Driver’s License.
