Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full‑time Right of Way Technician in the Public Works Department.

We pay our Right of Way Technicians a starting salary of $46,016 – $58,676 depending on your qualifications and experience, and we offer great benefits and perks available on your first day of employment.

- Perform landscape maintenance duties, such as mowing, trimming, mulching, and other tasks as directed for general care and maintenance of maintained areas
- Operate and perform general maintenance on mowers, edger, blowers, and other hand‑held tools
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers as directed
- Patrol ROW Division maintained areas for litter and debris
- Maintain regular on‑site attendance – essential for this position
- Work as an essential employee before, during and after an emergency or disaster, whether natural or acts of war
- Stay abreast of, and comply with, all City and departmental policies and procedures
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director and/or their designee(s)
- High School Education or GED Certificate required
- Experience in landscape maintenance, construction, irrigation, tree care or general maintenance environment is preferred but not required
- Valid Texas Class “C” Driver License
- Texas Department of Agriculture License Category 12, 3A, & 5 – preferred but not required
