We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a growing portfolio of capital improvement projects at a large manufacturing facility in Summit, IL. This is a long-term opportunity supporting consecutive projects through 2027 and beyond.

This is a highly visible, field-based role focused on managing construction execution within an active manufacturing environment. You'll work alongside Engineering Project Managers, contractors, and plant operations to safely deliver multiple capital projects ranging from structural improvements to mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure upgrades

Responsibilities
  • Lead field execution for multiple capital projects valued up to approximately $1M
  • Serve as the on-site construction leader within a live manufacturing facility
  • Coordinate and supervise multiple contractors and skilled trades
  • Ensure compliance with all plant safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture
  • Oversee high-risk construction activities, including crane lifts and heavy equipment installations
  • Monitor construction quality, schedules, and adherence to project scope
  • Act as the primary liaison between contractors, engineering, and plant operations
  • Provide routine project status updates to engineering leadership
  • Support project planning and execution for capital improvements including:
  • Structural steel replacement and repairs
  • Infrastructure improvements
  • Electrical system upgrades
  • Tank repairs and relining
  • Pump, piping, and heat exchanger replacements
  • Underground utilities and civil work
  • Coordinate construction activities to minimize production downtime
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of construction management experience within industrial or manufacturing environments
  • Experience working in food & beverage manufacturing preferred; chemical, pharmaceutical, or other process manufacturing industries also considered
  • Strong field construction background with hands-on project execution experience
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and concurrent projects
  • Experience working in active manufacturing facilities without disrupting operations
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural, and civil construction
  • Experience coordinating crane lifts, heavy equipment installations, and other high-risk work
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with operations, engineering, and contractors
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities
