Position: ESY and PreK Summer School Facilitator

Compensation: $5,550

Reports to: Director of Summer School

Schedule: 7:45 am – 3:00 pm Monday - Thursday (6/3/2026 – 7/16/2026; Holidays – 6/18/2026) - 25 Workdays

Description: The ESY/PreK Lead oversees the daily operations of the ESY and PreK programs, including staffing, scheduling, transportation, and student arrival and dismissal procedures. The role also ensures instruction and curriculum are aligned to students’ IEP goals and early learning standards while maintaining communication with families and monitoring attendance. In addition, the administrator supports staff through professional learning opportunities, manages the program budget, and provides instructional support as needed.

• Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with required content endorsements (Early childhood Education and English Learner/Bilingual Education Spanish, or, Special Education endorsement preferred).
• Experience in Extended School Year or PreK within Summit 104
• Ability to meet both the academic and developmental needs of Pre‑Kindergarten aged children and students with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to teach and monitor within a culturally and linguistically diverse setting to meet the needs of all learners.
• Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
• Ability, both orally and in writing, to present information effectively and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from individuals and groups of educators/administrators.
• Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
• Demonstrate knowledge of IEP electronic programs.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate multiple facets of technology to enhance learning and instruction.

• Interview, assign, and schedule staff
• Oversee ESY and PreK classrooms
• Oversee modified curriculum aligned to IEP goals
• Oversee instruction linked to individualized goals and early learning standards
• Oversee special transportation for students in ESY
• Facilitate arrival and dismissal of all students
• Maintain communication with families
• Monitor attendance
• Provide and share informal opportunities for professional learning
• Maintain program budget
• Serve in an instructional role as needed within the program

• Position is contingent on student participation & if there are not enough participants, the summer position can be suspended with no compensation.
