HVAC Mechanic II-Overlook Medical Center-Full Time

Responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems, and related environmental‑control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipe fitting, and structural layout.

• Mount compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.
• Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape, using cutting and bending equipment and join tubing or pipes to various refrigerating units.
• Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating‑ventilation fans to control panels, and connect control panels to power source.
• Install expansion and discharge valves in circuit.
• Inject small amounts of refrigerant into compressor to test systems and add Freon gas to build up prescribed operating pressure.
• Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units, using electrician's hand tools and test equipment.
• Ensure efficient operations and make routine and non‑routine decisions with some latitude, but still subject to approval.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years experience in HVAC or relevant area.
• Universal EPA Certification.

Preferred:

• Completion of HVAC School.
• Refrigeration Certification.
