Location:
nd Ave East Suite 200, Sumner, Washington, 98390. Shift &
Schedule:
Days 2 Shift | Thursday-Saturday and alternating Wednesday, 5:30 AM - 5:15 PM. Overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role performs routine maintenance and basic repairs while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining KDP's high standards for safety, quality, food safety, and operational excellence.
What You Will Do:
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting and basic repairs on production and packaging equipment.
- Complete routine preventive maintenance activities, including lubrication, adjustments, inspections, and component replacement.
- Assist with equipment setups, changeovers, and minor adjustments to support daily production needs.
- Partner with equipment operators to troubleshoot and resolve basic equipment issues and maintain smooth line operation.
- Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely isolate equipment before performing maintenance.
- Accurately transact parts from MRO inventory to maintenance work orders using the plant's inventory/ERP system.
- Perform proper return-to-service checks to verify equipment is safely restored, operating correctly, and meeting food safety and quality requirements before production resumes.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Use maintenance manuals, equipment diagrams, and basic schematics to identify components and follow repair procedures.
- Maintain tools, work areas, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition in accordance with food safety and GMP standards.
- Work alongside experienced technicians on more complex repairs while developing advanced troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Follow all company safety, quality, food safety, and operational procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team and overall plant operations.
Total Rewards:
- Starting pay: $35.34 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $37.14 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.
- Shift Premium:
Additional pay of $0.96/hour - Benefits (Effective Day One, Where Applicable):

Requirements:
- General mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with mechanical repair or maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand basic repair instructions, equipment diagrams, and simple schematics.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email, maintenance systems, and parts lookup tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in an industrial manufacturing environment.
