EVS Housekeeping Attendant Starting at $16.25 an hour
LocationRoyal Oaks Retirement Community, 10015 W. Royal Oak Road, Sun City, AZ 85351. Cross streets are 99th and Grand Avenue.
ScheduleFull Time:
Tuesday-Saturday 7:00am-3:30pm.
Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, perform a combination of light cleaning duties to maintain cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and appearance of our facility. Operate washing machines to wash commercial, industrial, or household articles.
Brief Overview of Major Duties- Cleans garden, assisted living homes, apartments, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and infectious waste to designated disposal areas.
- Sweeps, scrubs, and polishes floors using brooms and mops.
- Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment.
- Keeps storage areas and carts well stocked, clean, and organized.
- Replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand cleaners/soap.
- Sorts clothing and other articles, loads washing machines, irons, and folds dried items.
- Washes windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as needed.
- Observes precautions required to protect residents’ property and reports damage, theft, and found articles to supervisor.
- Reports building or equipment repairs to the maintenance department.
- Performs many varied housekeeping tasks related to the upkeep of the facility, attends all meetings as required, and assists other departments as needed.
- May need to operate or drive a golf cart to transport supplies or employees around campus.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of custodial, housekeeping, laundry operations, and floor care.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Organized, able to multi‑task, think creatively, and adapt to different situations.
- Preferably knowledgeable on using an iPad; training will be provided.
- Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
- Maintain competency in the position and knowledge of trade/industry advances and new technologies.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English with all levels of staff, residents, and guests.
- Preferably a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Preferably one year of experience in custodial, housekeeping, or other related work.
- Current and valid Fingerprint clearance card or ability to apply within 20 days of hire.
- If driving duties apply, current, valid driver’s license; driving record must meet insurance carrier criteria.
- If applicable, Certificate of Completion for memory care services training within 30 days of hire and compliance with annual certification requirements.
- Ability to carry, lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds.
- May need to operate a fire extinguisher.
- Ability to assist in evacuation procedures.
