The City of Sunnyside has an opening for the position of Facilities Maintenance Custodian in the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for a variety of facilities maintenance and janitorial tasks throughout City facilities. The Facilities Maintenance Custodian will be required to operate a variety of equipment including hand tools, appliances and a variety of light equipment to accomplish duties.

Examples of job duties may include the following:

• Performs janitorial services to all City facilities that are open to the public and/or house City Staff, including but not limited to: garbage removal, vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms, and disinfecting frequently visited areas.
• Maintains stock of janitorial and general supplies across all City facilities.
• Complete regular logs, reports, and records regarding materials, time and equipment utilized to complete a project.
• Assists with moving desks, fixtures, and furniture to accommodate changes to work areas.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License
• One (1) year experience in janitorial services, building maintenance, or related field.
• Previous experience working with various appliances, hand tools, or other small equipment.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
