Maintenance Technician (Full-Time)

Island Hospitality Management is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our hotel properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of hotel systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Recognize, report, and correct potential safety hazards (e.g., broken doors, railings, fire hazards) and notify supervisors of all damages and deficits.
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpet and tile floor maintenance, and repairs.
• Perform painting, minor roof repairs, and other exterior projects.
• Repair pool and exercise room equipment as needed.
• Engage in preventative maintenance programs.
• Check and restock consumables when appropriate.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and management team to identify and complete technical projects.
• Prepare necessary reports during each shift for the management team.
• When required, report to the hotel in adverse weather conditions for exterior maintenance (e.g., snow shoveling, ice melting).

Qualifications

• Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and drive for achievement.
• Effective problem‑solving skills, including anticipation, prevention, identification, and resolution of workplace issues.
• Ability to work well in stressful situations.
• Capable of completing work orders on a timely basis.
• Availability to provide excellent guest service and respond to emergency situations on short notice.
• Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures.

Physical Demands

The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, lifting or moving up to 10 pounds routinely, and frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Work hours are variable and based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality does not guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
