The Facilities Technician is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Facilities department during the evening shift by ensuring timely completion of work orders, maintaining a safe, clean, and functional workplace, and coordinating facility-related requests. This role serves as the primary point of contact for evening facilities operations and requires excellent communication, organization, customer service, and teamwork.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, proactive, and capable of balancing administrative coordination with physical facilities work. This individual will communicate effectively through Slack and Jira, coordinate workflow with the Building Engineer and Front-End Technician, and step in to assist with maintenance, office moves, and other facilities-related tasks as needed.
Essential Responsibilities Operations & Work Order Management- Monitor and respond to facilities requests using Slack, Jira, and other communication platforms.
- Triage incoming work orders and prioritize requests based on urgency and operational impact.
- Coordinate and delegate work assignments to the Building Engineer and Front-End Technician to ensure efficient workflow.
- Communicate work order status and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure requests are completed within established service level expectations.
Duties & Responsibilities Facility Maintenance
- Perform minor furniture repairs, including desks, chairs, cabinets, shelving, and office equipment.
- Patch, repair, texture, and paint minor wall damage to maintain a professional office environment.
- Replace interior and exterior light bulbs and troubleshoot basic lighting issues.
- Perform routine drain treatments and preventative plumbing maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections of office spaces, conference rooms, kitchens, and common areas.
- Complete minor maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist employees with office moves, workstation relocations, and ergonomic desk setups.
- Set up and break down conference rooms and event spaces, including moving chairs, tables, staging equipment, and other furniture.
- Restock office, kitchen, and breakroom supplies throughout the building.
- Organize and maintain storage rooms, supply closets, and facilities work areas.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while responding to employee requests.
- Work alongside the Building Engineer and Front-End Technician to complete daily facilities tasks.
- Assist with furniture moves, event setups, and other physically demanding assignments during high-volume periods.
- Support emergency maintenance requests as needed during the evening shift.
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure the building remains clean, safe, and operational.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities, building maintenance, workplace services, or a related field preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience using collaboration and ticket management tools such as Slack and Jira, or the ability to learn quickly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in general maintenance.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors when required.
- Ability to safely operate ladders, carts, dollies, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Experience supporting commercial office environments or corporate workplace operations.
- Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with event setup and office relocation projects.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including lighting, plumbing, and furniture maintenance.

This position is primarily based in an office environment but requires frequent movement throughout the building.
