Custodian

• Perform janitorial duties and duties listed on the daily schedule
• Collect, classify, sort, store, ship, receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned areas and a clean work area
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor
• Comply with safety rules, policies, procedures, protocols, and company rules
• Stop at-risk behavior of others and self
• Perform work assignments with other employees and repetitive tasks
• Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers
• Fill in during staff shortages
• Support the shift lead in completing punch-list items
• Use proper personal protective equipment and maintain a professional appearance and conduct
• Provide customer service and understand customer satisfaction
• Understand reporting systems and the work environment

• No specific education requirement
• 3–6 months training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• May be required to have a valid driver’s license
• Completed all safety and task training certification
• May be required to be forklift certified
• Bilingual ability is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, compounds, and chemicals and their safe, efficient use
• Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely

Demonstrates expertise in janitorial duties, including the safe handling of hazardous waste and operation of cleaning equipment. Strong communication skills and adherence to safety protocols are essential for maintaining a clean and compliant work environment.
