Job Overview

As the community Maintenance Technician, you will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and perform general maintenance tasks including general upkeep of the swimming pools and related equipment, ensuring they are clean and function properly. Additional duties include general upkeep of the community building, common areas, and amenities, as well as tasks like cleaning, painting, repairs, outdoor maintenance, trash collection, and window washing.

Compensation: $22 per hour, based on experience. First Service Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure building and systems are maintained properly and in safe working order (i.e. applicable mechanical systems, electrical, fire safety, access control, HVAC, sprinkler systems, irrigation and landscaping, etc.)
  • Maintain recreational amenities (i.e. pool and spa, common areas, community parks, sports courts)
  • Paint and touch up walls, doors and common area surfaces to maintain community appearance
  • Spread and level granite/rock in landscaped areas to ensure proper coverage and upkeep
  • Assist in overseeing day‑to‑day maintenance of basic landscaping and common area maintenance
  • Assist in maintaining the common areas by picking up any trash and debris
  • Conduct routine inspections
  • Manage preventive inspection and maintenance schedule and corresponding work
  • Keep accurate operational, maintenance and repair logs
  • Help coordinate and perform modifications and improvements
  • Ensure emergency maintenance situations are handled timely and properly
  • Maintain an emergency response plan, including vendors and other necessary contacts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate through written & verbal means.
  • Strong multitasking skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize them according to their level of importance.
  • Proven time management abilities, with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
Education & Experience
  • 2+ years of commercial, residential or HOA maintenance experience (preferred)
  • Trade school experience (preferred)
  • Pool maintenance experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements
  • Walk and move throughout the community common areas and facilities
  • Sit and stand for moderate periods of time
  • Able to lift/carry 60+ pounds

Surprise, AZ

Work Hours

Monday–Friday, beginning after 30 days.

Hours:

6 a.m.–3 p.m. in summer and 7 a.m.–4 p.m. in winter. After 30 days, some weekends may be needed. There are 4 all‑hands‑on‑deck events, which may occur on weekends – these typically happen the Saturday before Easter, July 4th, an event at the end of October, and the beginning of December. Weekend hours will be adjusted or overtime may be approved.
