Collections Operator
Incumbents are responsible for performing semi-skilled work to inspect, clean, maintain, and operate the collections system which includes pipelines, manholes, and lift stations. Incumbents keep records utilizing a computerized maintenance management system. Incumbents inspect, clean, and maintain the stormwater system and components. This is the entry level of the Collections Operator series.
Education and/or experience:
High School Diploma, or G.E.D., and one year of relevant wastewater collection system experience. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class B or higher with a tanker endorsement Must have at the time of hire and be able to maintain an Arizona State Grade 1 Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification Must obtain the Pipe Assessment Certification Program (PACP), Lateral Assessment Certification Program (LACP), and Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP) from National Association of National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) within 12 months of hire date.
Selection process:
Applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview.
