Sutherlin Sanitation, in Sutherlin, Oregon is looking for a Yard Utility Laborer to join our team!

Schedule:

8:00am-5:00pm | Monday-Saturday. (Thursday & Sunday Off)

COMPETITIVE COMPENSATION: $20-$22.00/hour (DOE)

** Must have a clean driving record, pass criminal background check, & 5 panel drug screening to be eligible for employment.**

This role helps keep the facility running smoothly by maintaining the yard, cleaning and repairing containers, directing customer traffic, and assisting with the safe operation of the transfer station and recycling depot.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Yard and facility maintenance, including paper picking, cutting weeds, keeping yard clean and presentable.
• Washing, repairing, and assembling trash bins and containers
• Traffic management.
• Working outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to learn operating new Equipment/ Forklift, Leaf Blower, and Pressure Washer
• Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 65 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license with Clean Driving Record (Required)
• Must pass random drug and alcohol screenings per company policy.
• Forklift experience preferred
• Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.
