Sr. Maintenance Technician

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Sr. Maintenance Technician to be responsible for the day-to‑day maintenance and repair in a distribution center environment.

This is a full‑time position based out of our Suwanee, GA location. Must be able to travel to other site/s out of state as needed (i.e. quarterly or once a month).

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm with OT and occasional weekends as needed.

• Responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance and repair of the building and facilities.
• Maintains building electrical system and heating and cooling equipment.
• Maintains and repairs Conveyor system.
• Performs maintenance or general carpentry on items such as doors, floors, docks, overhead doors, roof downspouts, product racks, materials handling equipment, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining records in the FMX system of preventative maintenance and other completed work.
• Completes required reports when maintenance tasks are concluded.
• Answers security alarm calls as needed.
• Maintains all contractor relationships.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent degree;
  Technical school preferred.
• 3+ years related experience in a similar position in a distribution center or industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Additional Qualifications:
• Skills in mathematics, personal computers and related applications.
• Interpersonal and communication skills are important.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Must be a self starter with ability to operate independently.
